FERREIRA PROJECTS would like to announce PURE_drawing+illustration, the second in the PURE series of exhibitions in which participating artists; Fabia Claris, James R Ford, Frank Kiely, Stephen Kirby, Luke Moody and Hayley Potter have concentrated on producing an eclectic exhibition which explores the intrinsic potential of drawing to communicate in it’s purest form.

The exhibition features an artist’s book, pencil and ink pieces, animation and prints but in each piece the primary tool is drawing. Here drawing is stripped back to its most fundamental base, the ability to transmigrate meaning, identity, memory and place, through marks on the pictorial plane. The artists have refined their work in such a way, that through the most minimal application of mark-making, where colour and tone is utililised only when necessary, they can conjure up imagined, ancient and metaphysical worlds and displaced modern realities, conveying the widest gamut of human emotion, from existential solitude to childhood joy and enchantment.

PURE is an exhibition series of contemporary art, conceived by FERREIRA PROJECTS, that showcases art in its purest form; art where the prominence is given to the aesthetic rather than the theoretic, the experiential rather than the conceptual and play before pretension. These exhibitions aim to provide highly accessible, contemporary work, which the widest possible audience can appreciate, engage with and enjoy.
